Bo Chang Dong Nai Golf Resort

The Bo Chang Dong Nai Golf Resort, located just 60 minutes from downtown Ho Chi Minh City on a densely wooded land plot on the banks of the Song May Lake. After crossing a plantation of rubber trees, visitors arrive in one of the most dramatic scenery in southern Viet Nam, it looks like you are entering into a totally different world, embracing the wild life vibe from the surrourding environment.

Nestled on an area of about 300 hectares of magnificent tropical countryside being at the bottom of a valley and adjacent to the charming lake, the course provides natural landscape, perfect environment and year round stable playing conditions without much wind for an ideal round of golf. Dong Nai Golf Club officially opened in 1997 with 18 holes and the last 9 holes were finished in november 2002. 27 exciting golf holes laid out in 3 loops of 9 (A, B, C) that start and finish close to the clubhouse, each with nine holes were designed according to international standards. The length of each 9-hole course is about 3,500 yards from the longest tees.

The course is designed by the well-known American architect Mr. Ward W. Northrup, he laid out an attractive, but easily playable golf course. Each hole has its own individual character and presents the golfers of all ability a one-of-a-kind challenge. There are jungle sites for the players to play surrounded by trees and challenging holes where water plays an important role. Water is in play on the Dong Nai golf course’s first five holes as well as seven of the back 9. With stunning scenery and abundant wildlife around the lake backdrop, the signature 3rd hole, a par 3, 151-metre  plays like an island green since it is elevated and any tee shot that does not stick on the green spells trouble. Other excellent holes include the 361 metre 10th and the 490 metre 11^th, both of which require careful iron selection on the approach shots either to lay-up or to carry water in front of the greens. Similarly, the 15th, a 370 metre left-handed dog-leg, Really nice but tough with green very well protected by water to the front.

In addition to the well designed golf course, Bo Chang Dong Nai Golf Resort offers many other activities such as horseback riding, fishing, a children’s playground area, full spa sauna and massage facilities, and several international, Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants.

The club house and the locker rooms do not compare to the other courses around Ho Chi Minh City, but golfing is first rate with particularly fast and true greens. If you’re playing golf in Ho Chi Minh, Dong Nai Golf Resort should be on your list of golf courses to play.
