December 6th, 2015 at the press conference which was taken place at The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip, Mr Nguyen Van Hoa – General Secretary of Vietnam Golf Association announced an important event that will take place in 2016 – The first international junior golf tournament that ever held in Vietnam – Vietnam Junior Open 2016.
Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) will cooperate with The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip to organize the tournament that will be held in the first week of August, 2016.
The VGA expects to attract the best Vietnamese junior golfers and golfers from 39 countries of the Asia-Pacific Region. Golf Robert Rock Academy will organize many programs and events to prepare for the 2016’s big tournament for junior golfers.
“The tournament will be the meeting place for junior golfers from all Asia-Pacific. The Vietnam’s leading junior golfers will have a great chance to compete with the best golfers in the region. We will organize the tournament in August to make sure that all golfers can attend the tournament. This is also an opportunity for Vietnamese golfers who are living in the US and Australia come back Vietnam to participate in the Vietnam’s first international junior tournament” said Mr Hao.
Mr Ben Styles – general manager of The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip said: “After working with Robert Rock – an English professional golfer and Mr Hao, our next step is to organize the Vietnam Junior Open for young golfers in 2016 right in The Bluffs Ho Tram, the home of the $1,5 milion Asian Tour. We will spend all the good things for the young’s tournament like we did at the Ho Tram Open”
Robert Rock (Ambassador and friend to The Bluffs Ho Tram) shared: “At the opening ceremony of The Bluffs Ho Tram, we promised to foster and develop talent in golf, from beginners and juniors through to professional level. Therefore, it will be amazing when that dream will come true soon. Young golfers will be very excited to play at The Bluffs Ho Tram after watching the Ho Tram Open”
The Englishman has launched The Robert Rock Golf Academy at The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip, Rock’s academy officially opened in June, 2015 with the commencement of a 10-week junior golf program led the course’s head professional Patrick Kellym a former winner at the top level of US collegiate golf. Kelly is shaping the academy with input from Rock and Luke Ringrose, mentor of several great players and an instructor who prides himself on his ability to make “anyone who’s coachable a great ball striker.”
